Great discussion about gender divides in media studies

I just want to call attention to anyone interested in media studies to Kristina Busse’s post about MIT5 and the gender split across panels. In brief, among panels concerning fandom, female presenters did not attract many male listeners (aside from the BSG panel), while women went to the male presentations; Kristina rightly says “j’accuse!” It’s more interesting & complicated than that, and the discussion that follows is quite engaging – you can read my take there alongside many other folks.
